Everyone’s bored, “It’s all the same – how can we make it new and different?” we asked one another. Someone piped up asking if any of us had visited Crockpot365 and immediately the Blackberry’s and iPhones began to surf as we talked about this mom who had devoted an entire year to crockpot cooking.

There are over a year’s worth of recipes, along with fun stories of how she came up with them or where she found them, how it turned out and how it was received. The best part is that no indeed they are NOT all masterpieces but she shares them with us with a lot of humility – and even gives ideas on what would’ve improved the flavor etc.

She now also has a book which you can pick up on Amazon but I highly recommend checking out this ingenious and fun blog for new dinner ideas.

If you are like me, you joined various social networking websites when different groups of friends invited you. And at first it was manageable, keeping up with your work friends on Linkedin.com, your social friends on twitter, your mmorpg friends on Plurk, your high school friends on Facebook, but then you suddenly realize it’s become a task to post your updates. You want to share what is going on but good grief is it still fun when you have to log in here there and everywhere to repeat information? Thus Ping.fm enters the scene.

Ping brings the ability to update to more than 35 social networking websites including the big guns listed above, as well as Microblogging to WordPress and Blogger. You can post via SMS as well, texting info that then will shoot out to your designated update sites. I’m pretty addicted to using it for short bursts of info that I want/need to share. It converts info over 140 characters and links to a hyperlink that will take your viewers where they need to go to see the info.

Ping also offers apps for more robust mobile usage for a minimal fee but I’m good with my sturdy old SMS. It’s free to join so check out simplifying your social networking updates.

I’ve searched ovulation calendar after ovulation calender online, reading different methods and printing them out etc. I’ve got a calendar that hangs on my fridge but I’ll confess that I look at it so often that I rarely see it

I was intrigued and a bit tickled when I found BabyCenter’s featured service “Booty Caller.” The booty caller allows you to input your cell phone number and it will text you a message (3 per cycle for a total of 18) to let you know that it’s time! You get a message the day before you “fertile window” opens, one during and one right before your best chances end. I laugh every time I get the text and it has helped keep me on track – so to speak.

Now – has it helped us achieve our goal? Well you’ll just have to stay tuned now won’t you? Let’s say, for now, it’s kept us “on task.”

The site includes a section on making drinks – watermelon margaritas anyone? as well as other delicious and modern drink concoctions using vegetables and other modern twists that you won’t find in mainstream drink menus.

One of my favorite areas are the desserts where you can find smores topped with Trix or Wasabi – depending on your sense of adventure. It’s a highly interactive site with readers being encouraged to participate in making the recipes and reporting on the success. There are also multiple challenges with fun themes such as the $12 Challenge and the No Cook Hook challenge both of which look enormously fun.

I’m addicted to surfing through the site now to find unusual flavor combinations to try out. Check out Food2.com and maybe you too will discover new and unusual ways to eat Twinkies!

If you’ve ever Googled information about a product you’ve likely come across a few websites offering to compare prices or reviews for you. One down side to internet shopping has been that there usually isn’t a “live” salesperson there who can answer your questions on the spot. Recently I came across Pebble which offers just that, plus a few extras.

The first advantage to Pebble is that it offers everything in one place. You can find the information you need about a specific product without scrolling through the dozens of comparisons that you really care nothing about.

Pebble’s layout is simple to navigate and not overloaded like so many product comparison sites. You type in what you are searching for and then you can ask your own specific question or look through previously answered questions. When you are ready to compare prices and stores, they’ll list those. So you aren’t sifting through all the listings before you’re ready to commit to buying.

You can also browse through a category if you aren’t sure exactly what you are looking for. I used the “Kids & Babies” section and then refined my search to Lego’s. From there I found a great deal on a a Star Wars set our son has been asking for. I loved that you could break down your search by age range, brand and even by stores.

This site will come in handy for Christmas shopping this year and cut down time spent looking for bargains. The other positive side to Pebble is that people who are tech savvy and enjoy giving opinions can help other shoppers by giving their advice. Whichever side of the coin you are on, take some time to experience Pebble.

Ever wonder what it would be like to control the radio? You know have the chance at Pandora. This website has one mission – to play only music you love!

It all started back in 2000 with the Music Genome Project. It is the most comprehensive analysis of music ever undertaken. Their team of 50 musician analysts listened to song after song, studying every detail and collecting information. What they did with that is create the website Pandora where you can explore til your heart is content.

All you do is drop the name of your favorite song or band into Pandora and the Genome Project takes over. It will quickly scan the entire world of music and find songs with musical similarities to your choice. You sit back while it creates a listening experience tailored to your likes and dislikes. If it plays a song you don’t care for all you do is click the thumbs down button and it will take that song (and any like it) off your play-list. You can even create up to unique music 100 stations. I use this at work and love that I can delete the Backstreet Boys with one click!
