The funny thing is the products do smell nice and aren’t priced insanely high, so whether you’re buying them as a novelty tongue in cheek, or as a gift for a Sunday School Teacher with a sense of humor – they are actually worth the purchase.  I found mine at a local boutique but you can find a wide selection of products at BlueQ.

However, when I saw the options of books that were available, my face couldn’t contain the smile. The available books are divided into special occasions and age groups, so there is something for everyone.

As soon I saw the book, “The Monster at the End of this Book” I knew that was the book I wanted to do.  It had been my daughter’s favorite book when she was a child and this book was going to be for her son, Keegan. I could already picture myself reading it to Keegan over and over as I had his mom.

My initial contact with the company representative came in the way of  an email offereing my choice of 3 books to review in Keegan’s age category. The one that I wanted was not among the three and my enthusiasm ebbed a little. I wrote to my contact, Lauren, and she immediately replied that I could do the book of my choice and she would have a voucher issued for that book. 

In fact, every time I had a question, Lauren responded immediately. She was an excellent representative of the company. Once I had my book ordered, it arrived within 2 weeks and is every bit as wonderful as I imagined. 

The entire process was very simple and took less than 15 minutes to complete. I chose a book, uploaded the picture of my choice and typed in the text I wanted on the front page. You can choose the color of the text as well as the size.

The book arrived and it is a hardcover keepsake, the pages were glossy, thick paper that are 8.5 X 11 in size.  It is truly going to be a book that will be enjoyed time and time again and I would highly recommend this company. This recommendation comes not only for their product and prompt customer service, but for the memories that will come from using their product.

I’m sure you can guess what it does just by the title and looking at it. The Moo Mixer moos every time you mix your chocolate milk of course. This is a wonderful gift so that you always the right type of card on hand. These are a great communication tool for writing to friends and family without a constant trip to the store. It has come in so handy when she has a birthday party to attend or just wants to send a note to a friend.

Personalized Stationary – My husband designed some amazing note cards, magnets, calendars and t-shirts at VistaPrint. The website has promotional offers that allow you to try many products for free and you just pay for shipping. We combined several gifts for Aupairs, teachers and other friends so that the shipping cost is reduced. The custom screened t-shirts are terrific if you have a photo of your children with your Aupair or Nanny. If you are already ordering photo holiday cards from them you can add on some other items for free. Note pads, post-it notes and the hats all turn out so cute when you use their own photograph. We made the cutest calendar magnets for the following year using a great photo of our Aupair.

Free Samples – About once a week I go to Start Sampling and sign up our Aupair for a bunch of trial sized merchandise. It arrives in a few weeks and gives her a chance to try products just for kicks. I use our mailing address with her name so that it is always fun to check the mailbox. The best offers are for health and beauty stuff like shampoo, shower gels and snacks. This would be a great idea for an elderly relative too!

Holiday Clearance – I wait until about 7-10 days past a major holiday such as Valentines, Fourth of July and Halloween and I stock up on decorative items and gift products at clearance prices. I keep these tucked away for the following year. Target and CVS clearance items at around 75-90% off and we just stash them for 11 months until it is time to bring them out again. This is true for winter items like hats, gloves, fuzzy slippers and OSU sweatshirts.

Custom Made Coupons – We had our kids make these on the computer and then we printed them on certificate paper from Staples. The offers were for random pampering like breakfast in bed, a morning to sleep in, a pay per view movie, an ice cream sundae, her night to pick a restaurant choice and a custom burned CD with her playlist.

Movie Gift Card – It will encourage her to go and see the latest hit.

The Bissell Spotbot gets quite a workout in our home. With an older dog who has incontinence issues, my choices are to put my beloved Pupstar outside or find a really great carpet cleaner. I love the Spotbot for it’s hands free features. You fill it up, put it down and turn it on. It’s that easy.

It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of oil free products I use on my face, by the end of the day it looks like a grease pool right around my nose. I’ve tried oil free make-up, lotion, toner, etc… As a last resort I finally spent $5 on a package of Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets at the drugstore and they actually worked! I was shocked!

I expected them to work about as well as a tissue, but to my surprise you could see the oil on the blue little sheets and they didn’t smear my make-up as I rubbed the sheet around the oily areas. The shine was gone from my nose and my face looked very fresh. I didn’t even need to reapply my powder, which was usually what I did that created the excess oil. The package now stays in my purse all the time.

There are a lot of candles on the market you can choose from, but I’ve found the best available are made by Votivo. I was introduced to this line by a friend who gave me the Red Currant scent for my birthday and I was instantly hooked. They not only look cute in the simple glass jar, but the aroma lasts well beyond when you blow it out.

Votivo candles are made to burn for at least 50 hours and thus far mine have all exceeded that. You can choose from a variety of scents and the make perfect gifts. Although the price tag of just under $25 seems high, the quality is well worth the expense!
