Back in January we started a new feature here at Props & Pans called “Find It For Readers” where you e-mail us with a product, service or item that you have been looking for. Our job is to help you find it. Since we review a variety of things, chances are high that one of us has a solution for you. Below is a recent reader who asked for our help.

My husband has very bad allergies and was recently diagnosed with asthma (from 9/11). We also have 6 adult cats! It’s not easy to get rid of 6 cats, especially the two that are 13 years old. He doesn’t even want to sleep in his own bed because he knows he’ll be wheezing all night. I try my hardest to keep on top of the cat fur, but I think the furniture needs a allergen cleaner. HELP! Thanks for your knowledge and help.

Laura

Laura,

We once reviewed Febreze on Props & Pans and I use it regularly around our house. Granted we only have one pet, but I do Febreze our dog! They have a special product called Allergen Reducer that reduces up to 75% of allergens from cats, dogs and dust mites that can become airborne from fabrics.

Izzy once reviewed Earth Choice Allergen Control for carpet and upholstery which also reduces pet dander, dust & pollen.

Our recommendation would be to give either or both of those products a try.

We’re adding a new feature here at Props and Pans, where readers e-mail us with a product, service or item they have been looking for and we help link them up.
I’ll give you an example:

Dear Props & Pans,

I’ve been searching for a toy guide or list that tells me about safe toys. After seeing all the news coverage on toys with lead, I don’t have time to check online before I buy a birthday present or just something fun for our kids, to see if it is dangerous. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Beth

Beth,

Of course we can help you out! Cool Mom Picks recently published the 2007 Safer Toy Guide that will meet the need you are describing. Their guide is broken down into categories from infants to older children, and includes everything from cuddling, to building, to pretend play. Hurry, there are some discount codes at the bottom that are still good (in case you decide to order)!
