When I lived in Florida I was able to slip over to the Basin Store at Downtown Disney for the occasional luxury bath item. Since we’ve relocated this is one little luxury that had gone by the wayside. But on a recent business trip to Minnesota I strolled through the Mall of America and what to my wandering eyes should appear but a Basin Store! I ditched my boss and ran straight over with only three minutes left till closing time, annoying the sales girl with tales of how much I love bath bombs.
What is a bath bomb you might ask? A bath bomb is like a bath salt of old, made with sodium bicarbonate, that fills your bath with fantastic refreshing aromatherapy. The great big ones from Basin are about $4 and are so large you don’t really need the whole thing for a normal size tub. But need and want are two different things and I always just toss the whole thing in and luxuriate in the fantastic scent and softened water.
I have one I have put back for my new bathtub in my new house. You can find the selection of bath bomb scents available online here. If you can’t make it to a local Basin store, I recommend checking them out online. I give huge props to Basin!

UHM…I’m smelling the aroma in my bath already…I have salts in my cabinet and I’m heading there after this post…
Thanks for the idea….remember salts are also soothing as they are known to draw out soreness…a fun post…

Last night, I stopped at this same store, in Downtown Disney. I was disappointed that the ingredients weren’t readily visible. When I did finally talk to a rep and get an ingredients list, I found that they use ground up beetles to color their bath bombs (carmine). I don’t want to bath in crushed insects, so, I left the store immediately! I’ll stick with LUSH for bath bombs and other such items.
