October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and for the second straight year, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM Home Entertainment are joining forces with Susan G. Komen for the Cure on a promotion to raise awareness for the breast cancer. Props & Pans is joining that campaign and offering you the chance to not only win something from a great cause, but do something for a great cause.
DVD’s for the Cure includes 15 romantic comedies decked in special pink packaging that are available for individual purchase beginning September 23, 2008. The 10 returning classics are:
- A Walk in the Clouds
- An Affair to Remember
- Ever After
- In Her Shoes
- Legally Blonde
- Moulin Rouge
- Never Been Kissed
- Say Anything
- Thelma & Louise
- There’s Something About Mary
And the new titles this year include some of my personal favorites - The Princess Bride, Just My Luck, Little Miss Sunshine, Edward Scissorhands and When Harry Met Sally. There is definitely something for everyone in this combined list!
Props & Pans is giving the complete DVD set to a lucky reader who helps us spread the word about breast cancer. To enter please post something on your blog about National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you are unsure what to write, visit the NBCAM website for ideas. The field is wide open, just be sure to link back to this post at Props & Pans and leave a comment here with a link. The contest is open until October 1, 2008.

Thank for for hosting this wonderful awareness topic!
The link to my blog is http://crunchygreenmom.blogspot.com/2008/09/breast-cancer-awareness.html
I am also Twittering it tonight.
Great idea, being that I just finished 6 months of chemo for Ovarian cancer stage 3-b and had breast cancer in 05.
Keep the awareness up and help us find cures for all the cancers we encounter. We can win this battle together.

Thanks for doing this giveaway. I, personally, know far too many people who had/have breast cancer.
We’ve added this to our “Free Stuff” page at http://www.ForMyKidsOnline.com/free_stuff.htm

I just started blogging and well, I send out breast cancer awareness notes each month to friends in emails…to me that remins them to do thier exams, etc..I actually stop and talk to people about breast cancer all the time in stores- reminding them about mammos and if they say I cannot afford I give them information for free or lowcost
My family has been touched by breast cancer on both sides, one lucky, one not-so-lucky. My cousin was around 38 when treated for breast cancer. She had radical surgery and died of liver cancer a couple of years later. My mother-in-law is in remission.

I don’t have a blog (sniff, sniff) but I’d love to be entered so I’m sending an email to my friends regarding this giveaway and will include the following facts:
“About 178,480 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2007. About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year.”
I hope that counts! m_huston(at)hotmail(dot)com
All done!!! Here’s the link: http://mommainflipflops2.blogspot.com/2008/09/help-raise-breast-cancer-awareness-dvds.html

I just wanted to mention that this is just not a females cancer but a males cancer as well. Most people think this only happens to women but this is not so. I have a friend that has had it not once but twice. I do not have much time to blog but this I felt was important and so I made the time to leave a post about Breast Cancer Awareness Month and you can read it at

Thanks for reminding me to take this important message to my blog!
What a great idea to help spread the word about Breast cancer! I posted an article about Breast Cancer 3-Day here:

Thanks!
Thank you for addressing this topic. As a 6 yr brest cancer survivor I wish I had a blog to post my remarks. I am totally comitted to reminding people to get their Mammogram. My cancer could not be felt. My yearly mammo showed nothing, but the following year there it was showing up brightly on the screen. So please don’t think because you had a neg. mammo that you can skip a year. If I had done that I might not be here today.
