Gotta Go Mitts Protects Little Hands From The World

Gotta Go MittsWhen your child learns to go to the restroom, it’s wonderful. I love it when I can praise them, and then go and buy those cute little underwear to put on their none fluffy bottoms. However, I dread going out of the house when they are young, because they have to use public restrooms.

Our family lives in Colorado and we camp a lot. We also go to a lot of outdoor movies and public plays in downtown Denver. This means Porta Potties which are nasty for adults, but for children they are a breeding ground for every bacteria that a poor parent can imagine.

Then, your lovely child with beautiful bows in her hair or those adorable new loafers he has on, has to use the restroom…right now! It’s an urgency that we rarely get as adults; however they are running at full speed toward that small vertical fortress you can smell 35 feet away.

When you finally get in there and get them set up, they put those hands on those nasty seats to hold themselves steady. Now you have two choices, hold them yourself and hope the pint sized room isn’t too small for the two of you, or you allow them to steady themselves above the hole into the abyss.

Gotta Go MittsWe finally have another option that makes many of us feel much more comfortable. It’s a company called Gotta Go Mitts. This mom-based company was started by a busy mom of two boys, who had the same issues. She had tried sandwich bags and quickly realized her sons couldn’t grasp the seat. Gotta go Mitts were then born.

I received some of these in a gift pack I had won a few months ago. Right away I put them in my little girls diaper bag and fell in love. Let me give you a quick run down on what situations you can use them for:

  • Kids in the shopping carts
  • Restrooms
  • Eating sticky foods (Ice cream, lollipop)
  • Beneath mittens in the winter time while making a snowman family
  • Helping in the kitchen

My only complaint is the color. I’d love a pink set for my little girls. I know it’s silly to worry about aesthetics, but I am a mom for 5 girls. It’s my way of life. They are only $4.50 for a package of 20, which is a great price for sanity. You can purchase these at the online.
