Pin Up Lip Balm Brings Retro To Your Lips ~ Win Some!

Pin Up Lip Balm LemonadeOur review team was recently sent some eye-catching Pin Up Lip Balm to put to the test. Our lips thank you. At least mine do, because the harsh winter has left them chapped and dry. They offer eight delicious flavors and each comes in a very creative and functional slide-top tin. They may look old-fashioned, but they deliver top rate nourishment and make you feel a little stylish too.

I received Lemonade to try and it made me forget the icicles hanging outside, and remember that summer is on its way. Best of all are the natural ingredients which deliver the moisture. I can guarantee that when my tin runs out, I will head over to purchase another. They are reasonably priced at $4 and compared to more expensive items I have purchased before, Pin Up Lip Balm is much more effective at protecting my lips. Each reviewer received a different flavor and you can continue reading to see what their opinion was.

Pin Up Lip Balm VanillaI have a dark confession. I used to be addicted to lip balm. I went cold turkey about 4 years ago, until I got Pin Up Lip Balm in the mail to review. So, just for all of you readers I broke my lip balm fast and gave it a whirl.

Let’s just start with the package, because it is too cute! It comes in a little silver slide container with a retro pin up girl right on the cover. It’s one of those little things that you just feel cool carrying around with you and pulling it out in a crowd, just so people see you with it. Petty, sure, but I promise you’ll do it too. Even if the stuff in the container was terrible, I would still carry it. But it’s not terrible, it’s good stuff.

I love that it is all natural and the Vanilla I had smelled great. It wasn’t really gooey, but some of you hard core Carmex users may think it’s not thick enough. The only thing is that it is pretty hard. You really have to work to get it out and onto you lips, then it’s stuck all over your finger. However, I’m willing to concede here that I may just be out of practice.

I think that even if you didn’t use lip balm yourself this would totally be worth purchasing as a gift. It would make you seem cool and it would make them happy too!

Pin Up Lip Balm RaspberryThe first thing I did upon receipt of my Pin Up Lip Balm was look at the ingredients. Armed with the knowledge that cosmetics companies are not required to test their ingredients for safety, I now make a habit of looking for anything that I know to be considered unsafe for human health. It appeared to have all-natural ingredients with recognizable names like castor oil, beeswax, and avocado oil which is really good, but they did not list any ingredients pertaining to the Raspberry flavor. It just says “flavor.” I’d feel a lot better knowing just what that flavor is comprised of but to tell you the truth, Pin Up Lip Balm really has no tasty flavor to speak of anyway.

It’s really just just raspberry scented, which is pleasant but still bothers me. The balm comes in this great little tin and it has a pin-up girl on the label. I do like it but I have to say, it’s not something I’d feel comfortable leaving out for my little girl to see. At age seven, she doesn’t need to be exposed to that just yet. Overall, I did like the lip balm sample that I received and how it felt on my lips. As a lip balm enthusiast I can assure you I will probably use it until it’s all gone.

Pin Up Lip Balm CitrusOne of the basic personality flaws I carry around with me is that I do not share well. I had no sisters and my closest sibling is 10 years younger than I, so this does not make for an individual who shares well. Other girls in my sorority would share sweaters, boots, makeup and hair bobs. It has always freaked me out in a way that I suppose is simply indicative of my solitary feminine ways. It’s not that I won’t tell you about things, it’s just simply that I won’t give you mine. This is relevant, because recently I received a sample of Pin Up Lip Balm to try out. My lips had gotten fairly chapped so I was curious as to how it would work.

One of the salient points of this product is that despite its packaging it is a lip balm, not a lip gloss. It’ll go over your lipstick nicely but the real benefit is reaped by putting this all natural formula right on your lips. As I started using the Citrus balm on the dried out old choppers I call my lips, I realized something. It was working. Fast. My lips were becoming moist, absorbing the product and seeming to heal throughout the day.

That was when I turned into someone else and started taking it around to co-workers telling them to try it. I was so impressed with this product that I was literally cajoling other girls into trying it. Everyone had the same response and they loved it immediately.

Who knew that avocado oil, beeswax, apricot kernel oil and vitamin 3 were such an awesome combination for fighting the most annoying chapped lips you can imagine? This product is cruelty free and for those of you sensitive to smell, I find that it has almost no smell.
