If you have a preschooler in your home, there’s no doubt you know Dora’s cousin Diego. My boys, ages six and two, love to watch Diego on his animal rescue adventures. That is why when offered the opportunity, I was thrilled to review the new Go Diego Go! Safari Rescue game for the Nintendo Wii.
In this game the boys get to help Diego and Baby Jaguar save animals, earn badges and defeat an evil magician. The basic motions are easy enough for the youngest of players, and there is a special feature which allows an adult to help out with the second controller on the harder parts of the game. My older son loves having a game he can master on his own, and he gets a real sense of accomplishment when he earns a new badge. His younger brother loves being able to play without getting the controller jerked from his hands on the more difficult parts.
I love that this game contains no violence whatsoever. It also encourages activity. The icon that appears on screen to teach children which movements to make shows whole body movement, rather than just movement of the controller. I am a mom who is very picky about children’s entertainment and I have no complaints about this game. I would recommend it highly to anyone who asked.
