Horizon Club T500 Treadmill Provides Good Workout

Horizon Club T500 TreadmillSome of you may have made resolutions this year that include losing weight. Or maybe you just want to get more exercise in. Either way, I purchased a Horizon Club T500 Treadmill last fall and thought this might be a good time to let you know if I think it’s a good product.

We purchased it on sale from Dick’s and I was concerned about the quality, because it was not a very expensive model (under $600) in comparison to other models they offered, but thus far it has held up very well. My other concern was that it would be loud, but it is a relatively quiet machine. What I love most about the Horizon Club are the simple features. For instance, there are two large round cup holders for water bottles or whatever you want to place inside. There is also a ledge to hold a magazine or book, and an MP3 pocket which is handy.

All of the computer programs are on an easy to use, touch screen pad. You can just jump on and manually control your speed (up to 10 mph) and incline, or you can set up a program to use each time you exercise. Even better is that the treadmill has eTRAK technology and will register your progress, like logging how many miles you’ve gone, what your average speed is and how long you’ve exercised. So when your spouse says you bought this piece of equipment and haven’t used it all, you can show them what the eTRAK says.

The biggest feature I was looking for was some type of shock absorption to protect my joints and ligaments. The Horizon Club features TriFlex to minimize the hard stresses of running and walking. I cannot give you an opinion on the treadmill from a running perspective, because I have not run since my freshman year of high school when it was required. But if you are looking for a fitness machine to allow indoor fast-paced walking at varying inclines, then I highly recommend this machine.

Does it start at 0 mph or higher. We are looking at this for my mom and want to make sure it doesn’t start too fast (she has a replacement knee). Thanks.

Yes, it does start at 0 MPH - which is an important safety feature!
