I have spent thousands of dollars in search of something that would make my extremely dry skin feel soft and smooth. I have tried Arbonne, Lancome, Avon, Mary Kay, Olay, L’Oreal, Eucerin, baby oil/gel, Vaseline, Kiehl’s, Burt’s Bee’s, SkinCeutical and that the list could go on.
I have even gotten prescriptions from my dermatologist and paid full price for creams that my insurance refused. Nothing helped on a long-term basis. I could put on creams and my skin would soak them up.
Then, after fifty eight years of being a marketer’s dream, I finally had a thought.Recently I had gotten a stone massage which is another article in itself, and the almond oil they used stayed and felt great for several days afterwards. So I wondered about olive oil? If it is good for the inside, why not the outside?
You can find some really great almond oil products at Crabtree & Evelyn. it may seem pricey, but a little goes a long way. I combined the almond and olive oil in equal parts. In the shower I now have a spray bottle filled and ready to go. I have also read where coconut oil is used in some creams. So guess what is on my shopping list?

That sounds really cool. The winter months are the worst for me; as they are for most. I bet the coconut oil would smell good as well as the almond oil.
Great info, thanks.
I can’t wait to try adding a bit of almond oil to my bathwater. But olive oil? I don’t think I can slather anything on me I cook with!
Olive oil is wonderful. It soaks right in instead of leaving an oil greasy feeling on your skin. Its great for softening your skin. I put straight olive oil on my lips and it soaks in and dissappears and makes them very soft.
