Polaroid i735 Camera Works For Kids

Polaroid i735 CameraThis past Christmas my older daughter wanted only one thing from Santa – a pink digital camera. In the past we’ve gotten her those oversized, kid-friendly type models. However, to her they seemed more like toys rather than the “real thing” because the quality of the photos were usually less than desirable and the LCD screens were teeny tiny.

This time I think we found a winner in the Polaroid i735.

First of all, it’s made of a durable plastic, and it’s very light and easy to carry around. It also comes with a transparent white case to help protect the body from accidental drops. The 2.5” LCD screen is big enough to view your photos in color and the 7.0 megapixels deliver high quality photos.

Secondly, one of things I like best is that it runs on 2 AA batteries. This comes in very handy when the power suddenly dies. We know how kids can get impatient at times and being able to just pop in a fresh pair of AAs can make life a little easier. I’m definitely all for that!

Third, the best endorsement for this camera is that my 5 year old loves it! It’s very kid friendly and after a brief explanation on how to use it, she was off and taking photos like a pro. She likes that it looks like my digital camera because it makes her feel like a big girl.

There are lots of other useful features so make sure you stop by their site to see if this camera is right for your family.

I read somewhere recently that the first color for any piece of new technology, after black and gray, is pink. My daughter can’t wait to get her hands on my pink camera and pink cell phone whenever I have to replace them.

Pink is the new black. *wink*

Pretty much all my gadgets are pink: laptop, DS lite, camera, phone, iPod, etc. At least I’m always color-coordinated!

I think I want this camera for myself! I can agree, those fisher price cameras are cute but the quality is like a cheap webcam.

LOL! My daughter’s camera takes just as good if not better photos than mine!

Hi, Kailani! Something tells me my boys wouldn’t like this particular camera. We’ll have to see if it comes in blue!

Thanks for the review. Might not be a bad camera for my pre-teen, either.

We bought this for our 11 year old Daughter to replace a cheap digital camera that she got for Christmas. This camera is great! It uses standard SD cards (up to 2GB). This could be a problem for some, but for her 2GB was more than enough to store a few hundred 7MegPixel images at a time. She was taking timed photos and nice portrait and landscape photos within minutes of taking it out of the box. The neat thing about this cam also is it uses either standard AA’s (2) or can use NiMH AA’s (just remember to select the right battery type in the setup) It also comes with a real nice skin/cover to protect it from bumps and scrapes. All in all, this is the best dig cam for the money that we could have got her. There are better cameras out there with better optics and more resolution, but you pay substantially more for them also!! This has 3x optical zoom, image stabilization, and more.. I could go on about the neat software that comes with it (Arcsoft’s photostudio, etc) not to mention that the purchase of this camera supports a very good cause…
Ok, bottom line. Good camera, good price, great deal!
