My husband says to me while in the crowded mall food court,”Want a Yule Flip Blizzard?” To which I say, “No.” And then he and my son explain to me that it’s a Blizzard, that tastiest of shake/ice-cream hybrids, with peppermint chips and chocolate in it.
I wasn’t convinced yet, because I was picturing big hunks of frozen, tooth-breaking candy cane in my delicious blizzard treat. It sounded like too much and I wasn’t terribly into it, honestly. I wanted a Buster Bar. However, they wanted a Yule Flip Blizzard, had seen them on TV and had been hoping for one. So who was I to say no when they were being polite about asking for it?
So off my husband and son go to return with a cup of ice creamy deliciousness. The peppermint truly was chipped, so it was lots of peppermint flavor swirled throughout the vanilla ice cream versus chunks.
Combined with the delicious bites of chocolate throughout the mixture, this was a wonderful surprise from Dairy Queen which is reliable and good, but never really fantastic.
I’ll actually look forward to having another one of these. I’d include the calorie information but that would ruin it for you. Let’s just say it’s really, really good. When the mall is too hot and WAY overcrowded, this icy treat really hits the spot.
