Gingerbread In A Pop-Tart?

Ginger Bread Pop TartsI was amazed when I saw the newest flavor of pop tarts Kellogg’s had created. Their newest holiday treat is Gingerbread Pop-Tarts available only for a limited time (probably through the holidays). I’m hoping it is a once time performance.

Pop-Tarts have come a long way since they were first introduced. I can recall when we only ate them warm and burned our tongues repeatedly. Then, we realized you could eat them straight from the box. Recently Kellogg’s even suggested freezing them!

It seems like we always have a box in the pantry. They make for a good breakfast on the go or just a snack.

Now I find seasonal flavors in between a crust that are all cute and decorated. I couldn’t resist trying them. Maybe it was the little man on the box that looked too inviting, but I wish I would have stayed away. Far, far away.

What they call gingerbread, I call crap. It may have very well ruined my favorite Christmas flavor and breakfast snack, all in one bite.

The crust was indeed soft and chewy, but the taste was bitter and the white frosting in the middle was bland. The combination was not pleasant. I’m not sure who their taste-tester’s were, but they need to find a new group. I just hope they stay away from peppermint or candy cane flavoring!

IT FALLS IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS A DAIRY QUEEEN BLIZZARD OR PUMBKIN CHEESECAKE. LET’S LEAVE THE PUMPKINS IN THE PIE!
