I have very long hair that is prone to going frizzy and breaking all over the place, and since I’ve spent the better part of the last eight years either pregnant or nursing, I’ve been going through the hormonal hair-falling-out thing several times, too.
I’ve been using Garnier Fructis’ Length and Strength formula shampoo and conditioner for most of those years. It cuts down on the frizzies and really minimizes the breakage and fallout effects.
Since I’ve used it, I’ve never had my stylist complain that I’m not taking care of my hair between cuts, and I rarely have issues with split ends, despite regular abuse from sun, wind, chlorine, and the occasional blow dry.
I tend to stockpile things like toiletries in this house, so I didn’t notice until recently that Garnier Fructis has changed the bottles, using thinner plastic and I hate them!
It used to be that the bottles snapped shut easily, one of those little features that you come to rely on and take for granted. The thinner plastic makes the hinges on the tops too thin and leaves them flexible, and the tops not only don’t snap back shut easily, but you have to make sure the top and bottom part of the closing mechanism are lined up.
Let me tell you, when you are standing in the shower naked and slippery with a hand full of conditioner and unable to see because you aren’t wearing your glasses is NOT the time to find out you need the fine motor coordination of a jeweler to close the damn conditioner bottle.
At first I thought it might be just one batch was defective or something, but I quickly discovered that all six bottles I bought recently have the problem (what, don’t you buy six bottles of shampoo at once?).
It wasn’t broke so you shouldn’t have tried to fix it, Garnier Fructis. If you changed plastic formulation to save money, I’d be willing to bet that I’m not the only crazy one who would be willing to pay a few pennies more per bottle to make sure that I can close the blasted bottle with ease.
