Meet Peppa Pig! She’s five years old, loves to play games, fly kites, play dress up and jump in mud puddles and she does a funny little snort when she’s excited!
Originally an award-winning British show for the preschool set, Peppa Pig has just made her US debut with the DVD Peppa Pig: Muddly Puddles and Other Stories in which she learns lessons about life, family and friends in twelve colorful episodes.
My son is two and a half and was immediately taken with Peppa and her little brother, George and even my seven year old has enjoyed watching the Peppa Pig DVD.
I liked it because it’s a fun, low-key show without a lot of fast-moving imagery, overstimulating graphics and sound, obnoxious singing or syrupy sweet and preachy story lines and yet there is always something for children to learn or glean from it.
I would put it in the same category as Oswald (Nick Jr.) and maybe the earlier episodes of Curious George (PBS), which are really the only two kid shows that don’t make me want to close my eyes and plug my ears as I run from the room (I’ve been watching children’s programming for seven LONG years!)
Props and Pans has copies of the Peppa Pig “Muddly Puddles” DVD to give away to three randomly selected winners (US shipping addresses only).
All you have to do is leave a comment telling us what kids show you find most tolerable and who you want to win the DVD for (child, relative, friend, classroom etc.) It’s easy peasy!
Good luck!

I like “Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear” a lot! I’d like to win Peppa Pig for my daughter. She has seen Peppa before and likes her a lot.
Curious Geroge is cute. I can tolerate Little Einsteins some, too. The problem is not so much that the shows are intolerable (although many are). But my son will watch the same episode over and over, causing me to curse my beloved Tivo for its very existence! Anyway, I would love to win for my almost three year old who loves the animated animal shows!
I let my grandchild watch anything on PBS - mostly Clifford. And the Noggin channel has a few shows that I actually enjoy with music.
I want to win this for my little boy! : ) He’s 4 months old and I love to put any kids shows on for him even though he is young, particularly the Disney Channel. I also put on Veggie Tales and some of the Signing Videos with him.
I’m a big fan of SpongeBob Square Pants. he’s like the boy Pollyanna. I’d like to win the DVD for my son.
My daughter has a “sample” cd with a clip of Peppa Pig and loves it! She watches it over and over — so she’d love this DVD — a full length version!
TLC has a good morning lineup. My son loves Bigfoot. Ready Set Learn.
I personally like the backyardigans, they are so cute and the songs are so fun to sing with my kids. I love this DVD and my little girl would love it, she loves pigs.
My kids love Peep, which I don’t mind so much. My daughter is the big fan of Peppa Pig. I really miss the TickleU lineup they used to have on Cartoon Network with this, Harry, Firehouse Tales, etc.
I love Little Bear. Probably more than my 3 1/2 year old daughter does at this point, but my 3 month old has a couple of years to give me the excuset to watch it! I love the slow pace, the music, and the sweet storylines. It’s also great that the story usually includes his family.
I like Oswald, too, for many of the same reasons.
Peppa Pig sounds great! I’d love a chance to check her out.
I love to sit down and watch the Bernstein Bears with my son. He’d love this DVD!
I used to like to wath the jetsons. I would like to win this for my daughter
I let my kids watch Elmo’s World and they really enjoy it. They laugh and try and sign along. I think that they would enjoy this DVD.Thanks.
I would love to win this for my two daughters! My favorite show (I hate to admit) is Sesame Street–I remember some of the songs from when I was growing up!
I really like Word World. Very tolerable for me!
I would like to win this for my two sons.
i love to watch clifford with my son. he would love this!
My kids love to watch “Superwhy” on PBS and I actually think it is a cute show. I like that they are learning about letters, spelling, and reading while they are being entertained. I’d like to win this show for my two and four year old children. Thanks!
My daughter’s favorites are Dora and the new PBS show Super Why. Usually if she watches TV, it’s PBS because we don’t have Noggin or Nick jr. full-time or tivo or anything. Since I’ve been pregnant, I have to admit I no longer find any of the kids’ shows annoying because they give me some time to do my own thing or just rest!
I actually like Dora because it’s one of the few shows where the female is the lead character…and she’s cool and smart and adventurous (I’m not a fan of the whole princess thing). So, I would LOVE to win this Peppa Pig DVD for my daughter because she sounds like another good female lead character!
We’re huge Jack’s Big Music Show fans over here, myself included! My daughter doesn’t watch many ‘toons but I love the simplicity and bright colors of the Peppa drawings - I think she’d love this DVD! Thanks!
We like Curious George and Clifford in our house, but we don’t have cable, so our choices are kind of limited to PBS. It sounds like my three year old daughter would absolutely love Peppa, too.
We are big pbskids fans over here, as well as some playhouse disney. We LOVE Pogo, but can only get it from Canadian public tv and also like signing time. I would love this for my 3.5 yo son now, and my almost 1 yo son for when he is older!
oops, meant to say poko - not pogo!
This would be a great DVD for my daughter to watch while waiting in the pickup lane at my son’s preschool.
My son was taken by Peppa Pig as well when he first started watching it a year ago, when he was three. We mainly watch Noggin–for Oswald, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and Max and Ruby. My son LOVES Max and Ruby! I can actually tolerate it, despite the fact that Ruby’s voice is something to be desired!
Our nearly three year old daughter is into just about anything with a special interest in girly girly characters and princesses (you name it…Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Cinderella, Fairytopia characters, Barbie). She enjoys a variety of books, CDs, and DVDs and no doubt will love being introduced to Peppa Pig!
We all love Veggie Tales at our home. My husband even likes the adult humor in each one. My son Jonah is a TV junkie. We are always looking for wholesome shows for him to watch.
My kiddies love Curious George - I think they can relate to him for getting into trouble all the time! LOL! They would love this DVD!
We are big playhouse disney fans in my house. I can watch anything on there but the Doodlebops are just too perky. I would like to win this for my 2 girls.
My daughter would really like this. I love Wonderpets and PinkyDinkyDoo. My daughter lives for Dora and Diego which are fine, but they get old. Thanks for the contest!
The kids enjoy Super Why! I would give this great give-away to my nephew who is turning 2 soon!
I LOVE Curious George! He’s so darn cute!!
I’d love to win this dvd for my son! He’d love it!
I like Little Einsteins show. My son would really enjoy this dvd.
My son is 2 and doesn’t sit still for TV for very long yet (which is fine!), but for some reason he loves to watch “Signing Time” on PBS. He sometimes watches Thomas the Train too. I’d be happy to try out Peppa on him too!
I hate to admit it, but our favorite show is SpongeBob SquarePants. The kids love the silliness, and my husband and I chuckle at the grown-up humor hidden in the shows. I’d love to win this dvd for my three punks.
We watch Veggie tales & Wonder Pets…..for my 3 nieces!
I enjoy anything on PBS for the my son to watch. S.Street is a favorite in our house right now. This would be great give away to my son.
My current favs are Super Why, Word World and Word Girl on PBS.
Word Girls is my top favorite though, he side kick Captain Huggy Face has the coolest super hero name EVER!
We all love Veggie Tales at my house, even the teens can not only tolerate it, but love it.
I would like to win this DVD for my 4yo daughter Trinity and my 1yo son Samuel.
we love Thomas at this house. I admit they are starting to grow on me.
[...] Props and Pans is giving away Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles and Other Stories DVD. Three to give. Ends October 28. [...]
My son loves ( and I can actually stand) veggie tales and mickey mouse’s club house. Both of these shows are adorable so I don’t mind if he watches them. I would want to win this dvd for him
My son loves Between The Lions on PBS. I like it, too!
I like curious george and little einsteins.
We don’t own a tv anymore, but when we visit grandparents, the children watch Dora.
I would love to win this for a friend’s daughter.
I blogged your giveaway in my http://laurawilliamsmusings.blogspot.com/2007/10/thursday-edition-of-contests-galore_18.html
I would love to win this for my daughter. And, would you believe that I’ve actually grown kinda fond of SpongeBob?
I jsut found myself totally lsot in Little Bear today. I love that show. I would love to win this for my almost 2 year old daughter
Honestly I think Spongebob is the most fun show to watch. But, hey, my kids love some Peppa Pig, so I’d win for my munchkins.
I’ve always been a big fan of Sesame Street and also the Veggie Tales. I would like to win this contest for my nephew!
Good luck everyone!
Jennifer
Oh, Sesame Street. I love the Pointer Sister’s counting song!
Oh, Sesame Street. I love the Pointer Sister’s counting song!
(I forgot to add who I would want to win this for: My 3-year-old son!)
Well, I’d want to win this for my son who is currently in LOVE with Little Bear which I find very tolerable although not so much after seeing the same ones over and over!!
Little bear is the best!
Great giveaway btw!
I would love to give this to my two year old daughter, especially if it would entertain long enough for me to get a long bubble bath in, without hearing MAMMMMMA
I haven’t seen this show. The shows I find enjoyable are:
Peep and the Big Wide World (this one is my favorite)
Signing Time
Little Einsteins
Sorry, I forgot to say that I would give this to my 3 year old niece.
We also like Wonder Pets
My kiddos newest favorite is Word World. Not horrible for me to watch… In fact, it’s super cute! Would love to win this for my six little guys!
(Not sure when this contest ends, but I’m spreading the word!)
my son likes music and dancing, so he loves jack’s big music show. if we won the prize would be for him.
I’d like to win this DVD for my daughter. She’s not quite a year now, but I’m sure she’ll enjoy it soon enough. She doesn’t watch any kid’s shows yet, but when I was a nanny years ago I didn’t mind when the kids watched Big Comfy Couch. Is that show even still on? Oh, and I really enjoy watching Veggie Tales…with or without children watching it with me.
These days the kids shows that bother me the least Jo-Jo’s Circus, Stanley, Blues Clues, Curious George. As others have mentioned, it typically isn’t the show that bothers me, it’s the request to watch the same episode over and over. I would give this to my 4 year old son and eventually my 5 month old son.
We love little einsteins. the music, the characters, the art, we just love it.
I would love to give this dvd to my 4 year old twins.
I can stand most of the characters on the Disney Channel. I would like my three younger kids(2,3,5) to get to know peppa and maybe give me a break from the normal
We had our granddaughter for several months!! I didn’t like at first but got real use to Elmos World!!!! Would love this for my granddaughter!
I really like Max & Erma, The Wiggles and the Fairly Oddparents! I would love to win Peppa Pig for my one-year-old son!
I love Jakers on PBS! He’s the cutest little Scottish Pig ever. I’m hoping to win for all my kiddos - 5,4 and 2. I think they’d all get a kick out of it.
Thanks,
Jess
Berenstein Bears! Such a classic! Would love to receive this DVD.
From your description, this one sounds ideal for Kiddo. Although he’s too young to watch (or understand) TV, my quest for the right children’s dvd has already started and I definitely want this one! It sounds funny and charming and educative. So count me in…us - I mean, Kiddo and I
i LOVE sesame st.. ive loved it since i was a kid and even before i was a mom i watched it well into my 20s (and now again as I near 30 with my son! LOL) its a great show. Id love to win this DVD For my son as well.
My kids adore Little Einsteins! I would love to win this for Logan, my youngest:-)
I don’t mind In the Lions. my son Caleb would love this!
My son watches a line-up on the Disney channel…Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny. I watch those with him, but change it ASAP when the Doodlebops come on! I cannot stand them! He also likes Blue’s Clues as do I. I think he would really like Peppa Pig.
Sign me up!!! My kids only watch quality tv with good teachings and messages… typically anything on PBS is worthy (my fave is Reading Rainbow)
Sesame Street is a good old favorite, and since I enjoyed it as a child I’ll enjoy watching it with my daughter too! She’d like to watch this DVD.

I actually can enjoy Max and Ruby. I would be getting his DVD for my 3 yr old and my newborn. Thanks!
My son likes Curious George, Little Einsteins, and Peep. Of all those, I like Peep the best, though I can stand them all. The annoying thing about Little Einsteins is that the stupid songs stick in my head all day! My son will also watch the same ones over and over and over on Tivo. I did set it up to tape a new Peep and George every day and delete the old one, so we have a rotating selection. But my son still picks his old favorites until we force him to watch something else.
My 4 year old daughter loves peppa pig and has made it quite easy to buy for xmas for her this year because of it! She has now got her 2 year old cousin infatuated and myself and her cousins mum look forward to 3pm on nick jr because we know it will give us half an hour of silence as they become engrossed in the world of peppa and her family and friends!
My 4 year old daughter is in love with peppa and her family and has made it quite easy to buy for her this xmas because of this! She has now got her 2 year old cousin infatuated with them! Myself and her cousins mum look forward to 3pm on nick jr as we know it involves half an hour of silence for us as they become engrossed in the world of peppa and her friends and family!
I can tolerate Sesame Street… actually, I like a lot of it! Ernie has some funny one liners that make me laugh. I like that they still have some of the same bits as when I was growing up.
I want this video for my fabulous 19 month old son. We don’t have cable, and I’m getting tired of watching the same Sesame Street and Blues Clues videos!
Sesame street has always been tops in my book!
HEY I’M A NEW MOM AND WOULD LOVE TO START MY KIDS DVD COLLECTION OUT WITH THIS GREAT DVD.
THANKS
I tolerate Little Einsteins, I would love to win this for my 3 year old daughter. thanks.
Hi!,
We are bilingual familiy so does my 3,5 year old dougther. She loves the watch this show, and she can pick up lots of words and manners from this show. I have been searching to find dvd, till i see your page. I hope to enjoy watching this dvd with my daugher soon :)))
