My biggest pet peeve of beauty products is there are too many choices and if you find something you like they usually quit making it. Has that happened to you?
Mary Kay Day Radiance liquid foundation was the first product I found that didn’t leave lines and blended smoothly with my skin tones. After a few years of faithful use they changed the line and the new replacement didn’t even compare to the old one.
Then came Almay Smart Shade makeup. One of the hardest things about finding the perfect foundation is matching the tan colors on the bottles to your own skin. Everything looks the same and when tested on your face, nothing looks like the shade it represents. Light ivory looks the exact same as light beige!
Almay is taking the guess-work out of this process with Smart Shade. The colorless foundation will transform into a shade that complements your skin tone as you apply it. The only decision you make is choosing between light, light/medium and medium.
I admit to being skeptical until I tried it. After using it for about a month several people have mentioned how even my skin tone looks. In other words they’ve noticed I don’t have that clown line around my jaw area where in the past my make-up didn’t blend very well.
It goes on smooth and looks a little like lotion with some color beads within the foundation. There are several red patchy areas on my face that don’t match the rest of my skin tone, but Smart Shade has provided the best coverage I’ve ever found.
My other concern was that since it is oil-free there may extra dryness, but instead the nourishing antioxidants keep everything balanced. For around $12 a bottle you are left with a natural look and SPF 15 protection.
The only thing that could go wrong here is if they suddenly discontinue my new favorite product!
