To crafty moms or older kids, the Ka-Jinker, which retails for about $12.99, resembles a hip version of the Bedazzler without the metal prongs.
The Ka-Jinker, with a very sharp needle (hence the mom or older kid disclaimer) shoots a plastic tag fastener through an oversized sequin supposedly attaching it to and adorning flip-flops, tee shirts etc.
I bought this for my daughter for her twelfth birthday.
After a few tries we both had it down, although it was awkward to hold both the gun (which resembles a hot glue gun with a hypodermic needle) and the sequin and the fabric, at the same time.
The directions were to put the needle through the hole of the sequin, hold it all close together, and shoot. And shoot we did, but the Ka-Jinker’s handle got stuck after less than a dozen ka-jinks.
Back to the store.
The second Ka-Jinker’s needle kept popping out. Just as annoying as the handle sticking, but much more dangerous.
My daughter and I agreed that the Ka-Jinker was good in theory, but that was it.
She was disappointed because she wouldn’t return to school with embellishments on every tee-shirt and jean pocket, and I was disappointed because I have to go shopping again and find a comparable gift - preferably that has something to do with sequins — before she turns 13.

It’s really too bad it doesn’t work that well. My daughter would go nuts for something like this.
