Del Monte Fruit Chillers

It’s the hottest Hot-lanta as been in 7 years, so we’re all seeking something cool and refreshing here in the land of cotton. I ran into the Del Monte Fruit Chiller in the canned fruit aisle. Chilled you say? I had to pick some up.

You put them in your freezer overnight and basically what you have is a fruit puree that turns itself into a lovely sorbet like treat for you the next day. I chilled them on a Sunday so that they were ready for lunch the next day.

They’re fat free and I have to say, quite delicious. For basically the price of the little cups of fruit I’m probably buying anyway, it’s a nice mix up during this hotter than usual summer.

I bought the Polar Raspberry flavor which makes the unusual leap of not being TOO sweet like so many “raspberry flavor” treats can be (this is real fruit, so that’s the diff). It has a little sour bite that I really find to be refreshing. My kids love it, too.

The minute I peel back the top of one at lunch time I’m swarmed by little boys wanting a bite. It’s a good alternative if you’re trying to increase your/your kids fruit intake or just want a sweet, cool treat.

Big props to Fruit Chillers. I expected them to be a silly treat — who knew they would be so delicious?
