Well I’m shocked. When my mother told me she had purchased some bags to help condense items in her closet I didn’t think much of it. Then my son kept telling me there was a “new way to do laundry with the vacuum.”
I didn’t really know what he meant until I saw my mom’s new obsession — Space Bags
Now I’ve seen the TV ad and thought, like most special $19.95 offers, it was too good to be true but I’ll be darned if they don’t actually work!
These storage packs are fairly reasonably priced and of high quality. I was impressed by the amount of clothing I could pack into a large size bag. The sizes vary from medium to extra large and they also offer a hanging bag.
In a large size bag I fit 3 queen size quilts and not only are they more compact and easier to store, but safer than being exposed. The bag is airtight, waterproof and bug-proof. Whether you wanted to store seasonal clothing or protect special items these are worth the price.
It’s a very easy process. Fold your items and place them in the bag, seal the zipper and place your vacuum nozzle over the one-way valve. The nice thing is that the valve will fit any vacuum hose and you don’t need anything special to make them work.
On their website it stated that they received several phone calls from Hurricane Katrina victims that stated their items which were stored in Space Bags were they only thing they had left! Impressive. I also read that these create a ton of extra room in luggage when traveling (more shoes!).
You can find these in select stores or online. Prices vary but you can find good deals if you search. I’d love to know if anyone has had a bad experience with this storage system.
