I’m definitely a skeptic. When I see those infomercials on TV that claim to get grape juice out of carpet or hold ten elephants over the Grand Canyon with super glue and I laugh. Hard.
When someone mentioned to me that Crate and Barrel had an item that you could just rub your hands over and it would magically make any odor disappear, I laughed again. Then I asked them if they had a genie in a lamp I could rub too. “What a sucker!” I thought to myself.
Knowing I would never buy one myself, they purchased the Rub Away Bar for me. I’ll be darned if that thing doesn’t really work! It’s shaped like a bar of soap, but it’s magic actually makes odor (like onions) disappear.
It’s something every kitchen should have and at $7.50, it’s a bargain. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve scrubbed my hands with scented soap after chopping smelly things such as garlic. All along I just needed this stainless steel item. To keep it fresh and active, run it through the dishwasher or rinse it in the sink.
When I searched on their site for more information, I noticed it’s on back-order at the moment so it must be a very popular thing (either that or I am WAY behind in the times). I own a pair of Kitchen Shears from there and they are truly the best pair of scissors I’ve ever used.
