Kids II: They Know Their Customers

My three year old got a set of Bright Starts Star Teether Beads for her one month old brother for Christmas. I had only just given them to him back in March when I learned via an email alert that they had been recalled because the star bead at the top had in some cases become detached, thus letting the beads come off and posing a choking hazard to the little teethers.

Following the instructions on the Kids II website, I filled out the online form, printed it out, and cut the star bead off the ring and threw the rest of it away. I was supposed to mail the form and the star bead back to Kids II, but I got busy with life and my table grew messy again and it disappeared, so I never sent it in.

So imagine my surprise a couple of weeks ago to find a package from Kids II in my mailbox. In it was the replacement ring of beads, sent to me without my having had to take the completed form and bead to the post office.

It was a wonderful surprise. To me it says that Kids II realizes that parents are busy people, and don’t necessarily have the time to be shlepping their kids to the post office to mail back a piece to a comparatively inexpensive toy that has been recalled in order to get a replacement.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the baby loves said teething ring. Plus I like it because it is lightweight and easy to clean, so taking it with us on our adventures isn’t a problem. We’ll definitely be getting more Kids II toys in the future.
