I drink entirely too much Diet Coke. It is a problem. I admit it. You see, I am a woman who woke up one morning, decided to quit smoking, and did so. But Diet Coke? It is my one true vice, and I don’t know if I could ever give it up entirely.
Now there is Diet Coke Plus. Have you heard of this? It has a blue top instead of the customary red top, and on the label it says, “With vitamins and minerals.” Are you kidding me?
Adding vitamins and minerals to Diet Coke does not make it a healthier or less unhealthy drink. After all, Krispy Kreme makes a whole wheat donut now but after all the sugar, fat, frying, and glazing, you still can’t say that the donut is now good for you because it’s made from 100% whole wheat. That’s ridiculous!
For the record, Diet Coke Plus contains 15% of the daily values for niacin, B6, and B12. It also contains 10% of magnesium and zinc and it still contains aspartame and caffeine. Thank goodness!
How does it taste? I bought one because I had to know. The verdict? It tastes weird. There is a strange sweet aftertaste and the carbonation isn’t nearly as tickly as it should be.
It’s insulting to think that Diet Coke drinkers are considered dumb enough to believe that Diet Coke Plus can now be a healthy drink. It tastes funny. And that stripe? It’s supposed to be red. Pans all the way around for Diet Coke Plus.
Get yourself a real Diet Coke and take a multi-vitamin… The Breakfast of Champions!
