Method Bloq Wins Raves

bloqwash_gmint.jpgIn our house, we’re big on the lotion. We all have very dry skin and after a long and arduous (read: freezing) spring in New England, we’re slathering lotion on all day long. It’s like we’re living in the desert except it does nothing but rain.

But I digress. Last week the wonderful folks from Method sent me a couple of samples. One was a box containing two blocks of soap, scented with what they call Eternal Optimist.

The other was a package of lotion in a scent called Pure Minimalist. Great names! The lotion was contained in the most interesting package, a block shaped square with a built in flip top. The packaging was so unique; I fell in love with it.

But when I opened up the Bloq and smelled the lotion — oh, my goodness, it smelled so clean! It isn’t heavily scented but rather light and delicious. Of course, I had to try it right away because I’m like a two-year old when it comes to instant gratification.

The lotion isn’t like anything I’ve ever used before. It’s kind of fluffy and frothy in texture; very light with no feeling of oil or heaviness. I wish I could think of something with a similar texture, but all I can come up with is shaving gel/creme and that’s not quite right either. It’s more like egg whites beaten stiff, only a bit heavier. The point is, the stuff is light. When you pour it out onto your hand, you can feel the difference right away.

When you rub it on your skin, there’s no greasy feeling. It rubs in easily, it softens as it is applied, it’s very cooling, and it smells DIVINE.

I’ve been using it for about a week now, and I must say that I much prefer it to the other lotions I have on my bathroom shelf. I think it’s the perfect lotion for warmer days, when it’s just too hot for something thick and heavy.

Of course, being a Method product, it’s made from naturally derived ingredients, with no animal by-products, no parabens, and contains natural exfolients and olive oil.

I still haven’t tried the soap, because I’m finishing up another soap I like a lot, but I’ll report on the soap once my other product is used up.
