iPod Shopping: Two for One Props

If you are hunting for an iPod but would also like to save some money, check out Tech For Less.

When I was hunting around the ‘net for my son’s birthday, I stumbled onto their site and I am happy to report I had such a wonderful experience the first time around that I just ordered another iPod for myself, only I’m getting a video iPod!

I am a stickler for quality as well as customer service and these days it is rare to find one, let alone both, of these qualities anymore. I am thrilled to report that Tech For Less is one stop shopping!

I purchased an “open box” iPod 2G Nano for my son. When it arrived (lightening speed delivery!) unfortunately there was a small scratch on the back. Not a big deal, but I called the company and told them it had a scratch. Their response? “No problem Mrs. Renner. How about we reduce the price of the iPod by twenty dollars? Can we send the credit right now to your Visa?”

Ummmmm…okay!

So not only did I get the Nano for much less than if I purchased it from a discount electronics store, but I got a reduced price on top of my already deeply discounted one! Tech For Less also has an agreement with Amazon, so if you prefer to purchase via Amazon, you can do that, too. They also accept PayPal.

That excellent experience with purchasing the iPod freed up some funds to customize an iPod case for my son. Which leads me to the related prop for iFrogz.

iFrogz.com is a site where you can order silicon or aluminum cases for any iPod. What is particularly good about their silicon cases is they DO NOT collect lint and hair like some of the silicon cases my friends have purchased on Ebay.

If you are going for a standard case, the price is about $20, but if you decide to customize your case you can order a case, a “bandz” for it (essentially another separate piece of rubber that wraps around the perimeter and covers the docking ports so gunk doesn’t get in) and it can be sold with a “screenz” too.

The screenz is a thin plastic shield that keeps your iPod wheel free of dirt and it also covers the screen of the iPod to help prevent scratches. The site has a variety of screenz available in a few different categories, such as Sports, Artistic, Pop and Nature, just to name a few.

Or if you prefer to spend a little bit more, you can upload your own image and customize the screen to be just what you want it to be. You could even do your own company logo or picture of your family. Whatevah!

I gave my son his iPod in December, he uses it all the time. The case still looks like new and it has done a perfect job of protecting the iPod.

A customized Nano case, which includes the bandz and screenz is under $30. It’s a great deal and the customer service was excellent, too.
