(NOTE: This review has been amended here)
There were two surprises after my husband and I eloped last summer. The first was when I found his voter registration card, and we don’t need to talk about that here. That is what my 50 minute hour is for.
The second was when I discovered the horrific sleep that I would experience with his foam mattress.
After months of sweating, tossing and turning, rolling into the middle of the bed, and generally not sleeping through one single night, we have finally purchased a new bed.
Last week, our new Select Comfort Sleep Number bed arrived in no less than 10 boxes. Aside from being incredibly tedious to set up, I can honestly say that it is the most comfortable bed ever.
After laying on the fully inflated mattress, you adjust the sleep number to deflate just until you feel it in the small of your back. Guy and I did that for the first night, and found ourselves completely out of whack with our ability to snuggle. Because his number was 70 and mine was 40, when he would roll over to grab a schmoopie in the night, he would literally fall off of his side of the bed onto mine.
After a couple of nights, we finally realized that if we could find a happy medium, we could both be extremely comfortable and snuggle at the same time.
The bed has a warranty, and all parts are replaceable, so we have essentially purchased the last bed we will ever need. Now if we could just get some other furniture in the bedroom that wasn’t made by Rubbermaid…
