Want Some Zits?

In the name of frugality I’ve been scaling back from some of my more expensive habits, and I thought I’d give a new facial cleanser a spin. I don’t usually buy my facial cleanser at the store as I’m really a Mary Kay girl but based on the myriad choices available I decided to take a look around.

I noticed that Oil of Olay now makes about 800,000 different skin care products now, which is shocking. Most of them are insanely expensive in my opinion.

One Oil of Olay product, Olay Deep Cleansing Face Wash is a facial cleanser for oily skin. Or so it claims. It says that it has witch hazel in it - and your grandma knew that witch hazel is good for zits so I figured at the very least, it’d get the make up off my face and keep it clean. I wasn’t looking for youthful rejuvenation or amazing improvement in skin tone. I just wanted my face to get clean.

After the first two days I assumed I was getting my period because I started getting whiteheads on my chin. And let me interject, I DON’T get acne. Maybe one or two on occasion but I typically have very clear skin. I didn’t even get it as a teenager. I have good DNA… What can I say?

So I stepped up my use of toner on my face after I washed it.

And I kept getting breaking out.

More every day.

I then washed my face with it twice a day and every morning and my reward was more zits, in addition to a new blackhead concentration on my nose and chin.

I’ve shaken the product up. Used a wash cloth. Not used a wash cloth. But every morning, I wake up with more acne. I’m not sure what sort of “super zit causing” product is in here, but I’m assuming it’s clogging my pores.

I’ve used other store brand cleansers before in a pinch and have never, EVER had a result like this. Olay Deep Cleansing Face Wash is possibly the worst facial cleanser I have ever used.
