Wirefly.com Cell Phones

Wirefly.com is a web site that sells cell phones as well as cell phone service. They represent all the major players and have it set up so that you can find a plan that’s right for you based on where you live.

I plugged in my zip code and waited to see what my current cell phone provider was offering in the way of family plans. And I waited. And after a good 15 seconds, which is an eternity in cyberspace, all the available plans were presented to me. It’s very helpful that you can compare different plans and also see how each one was ranked by J.D. Power and Associates for customer care and cost/service plan. After comparing a few plans and taking note that they now have something better than my current plan, I decided to check out the phones.

I like the fact that you can view phones in a number of ways. If I knew anything about the current models, I might prefer to peruse them by brand but I wanted to see them according to carrier so I clicked Cingular and looked at what is now available. Things have sure changed since I got my current ginormous cell phone a couple years ago.

The rest of the site included ringtones, resources, and accessories plus a thing that helps you check on your rebate status, which is nice because I always send off those rebate things and totally forget about them and many times, have never even gotten the rebate money back. Bastards.

Other than the lag time in bringing up the family plans I wanted to check out, the site is fairly simple to navigate and is not quite as cluttered and obnoxiously hard on the eyes as some of those cell phone web sites that in the past have had me clicking the window closed within 8.3 seconds of arriving.
