I was recently invited to sample some Folger’s coffee. Coffee? COFFEE? Sign me up! I’m all about the coffee!
Soon thereafter, I received three bags of Folger’s Gourmet Selections coffees to try — Lively Colombian, Morning Café and Vanilla Biscotti. Since I’m not a huge fan of flavored coffee, I let my friend Wendy sample the Vanilla Biscotti and she gave it a thumbs down for being too strongly flavored. BUT…to be fair, she admitted to not being a huge fan of flavored coffee either so maybe someone who really likes it would be more appreciative of a stronger vanilla taste.
I first opened the Lively Colombian and drank it for a few days. What I noticed most is that it reminded me of Starbucks regular coffee. I don’t adore Starbucks as I find their coffee has a certain burnt-ish taste to it and to me, the Lively Colombian was similar. In the days thereafter, I made it a little weaker than I normally would and enjoyed it more. My husband thought it tasted fine but preferred it less strong, too.
I finished my sampling by opening the Morning Café. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting much. You can imagine my surprise when I found that I really liked it. It was light and mellow, with none of the aforementioned burnt taste or aroma. My husband and I drank it every day until it was gone and we both agreed that the Morning Café was our favorite.
