Mail Bag: Readers Props and Pans

I have banked at Washington Mutual since before it was Washington Mutual. I can’t remember what it was before - that is how long it has been. Why? Because they have Totally Free Checking and I am cheap that way.

But the thing I love about WaMu is the interface on the ATMs. It is so amazingly well-designed and intuitive and clear that I want to find the designer and give them a smooch. Pretty colors, big buttons, clear instructions. It knows what I want to do and makes it easy.

Is that such a big deal? Well, my other bank was Bank of America, so I had a regular comparison. B of A’s interface is so cheesy and bad and stupid that it made me hate banking there. And WaMu’s makes me glad that they are my bank. So I guess it is a little deal that is a big deal.

Thanks for the opportunity to send out my praise.

When caught in the sweaty heaving tentacles of morning sickness, one is open to nearly any suggestion for easing the symptoms. Everything I read and everyone I spoke with were all in agreement : try ginger. While stopping into my local Whole Foods store for candied ginger, I thought I hit the jackpot. They had just gotten in a new shipment of the most coveted morning sickness remedy to ever hit their shelves. Apparently, pregnant women have come to blows over the last bottle (not unlike the Beanie Baby craze of the late 90’s) and I had the opportunity to purchase it. I plunked down my $9.99 + tax for Baby Bliss’s Morning Sickness Magic peach ginger dietary supplement. supposedly, by taking 1 tablespoon 4 times daily you may find relief from your symptoms in 3 to 4 days. Um no…by taking 1 tablespoon you may find yourself still barfing only now, instead of just puking, your stomach contents will burn with the intensity of a 5 alarm fire. Ladies, save yourself the lava spewing experience and PASS on this product.

One of the things that happened as we expanded from a couple to a family is we needed to keep track of everyone and what we are all doing. Even simple things like a dental appointment would get lost in the shuffle of our day to day lives. And by many accounts we aren’t as busy as many families, but my mission to travel all over the nation absolving parental guilt coupled with what the US Government expects my husband to do for them, mixed with two boys who live and breathe sports meant we had to do something to keep it all organized.

I never thought I would embrace The Clearsync Color Coded Calendar BUT…

The calender has brought peace to our home. We have tranquility by the day, week, month and year.

Gone are the days of anyone being the Schedule Shrew. Banished is the nagging feeling that maybe we left a kid somewhere when we shouldn’t have. Now we know what is going on in our household and beyond.

ALL HAIL CLEARSYNC!
